2001 Photos - BC Barefoot Provincials and RC's Challenge

Quamichan Lake, Duncan, BC

The BC Barefoot Provincial Championships were hosted by the Vancouver Island RC's for the second year in a row. The day prior to provincials is dedicated to a Novice Tournament (where skiers can do their tricks on the boom), and the Open Starts competition. There are two events during the provincials: Tricks and Slalom. Competitors get two sequential timed runs for each of these events. The RC's challenge is an endurance race to see who can go around the island in the middle of the lake and back to the dock (in typical afternoon windy conditions). Thanks to Ian Evans and the Vancouver Island RC's for their excellent hospitality in hosting these events. Photos by Ian Harder
