May 6-12
In May 2002 a water-ski road trip was organized for Newberry Springs, California. The location, in the Mohave Desert, is half-way between Los Angeles and Las Vegas; the latter being the transit point for those of us who used the airways. The group was comprised of Vince and Amo (who took his 1999 Nautique), Paul Wilson and Stacey, JFK and his cellphone, Fraser Rae (a West Vancouver Firefighter and soon to be member of VWSC), Bruno Ferraro (a Whistlerite who is a keen skier), Pretty boy Floyd aka John Jennings (a local realtor) and Barry McKnight.
JFK and his cellphone were the only night life but lots of sleep was the order of the day. Everyone skied hard and because it was early in the season, were exhausted. There was good food, lots of laughs and much needed sleep. The group are currently planning the May 2003 roadtrip so check out the pictures and if you are interested you can talk to either Vince or Barry. They want to cap it at 12 full on skiers with a few extra part timers.
